3 Internet Marketing Mistakes that Can Ruin Your Efforts
There are far more people who tried and quit at online marketing than we’ll ever know. But why did they not get the results they wanted? Most likely, they made a bunch of misjudgements and mistakes that really could have easily been avoided. If you do your homework well enough and know where you’re going there wouldn’t be a question of making the wrong moves. The rest of the article will give treatment to several more widely seen online marketing mistakes.
The lack of a plan, or a vision, is something that very many IM marketers do. You need to think about the future because some things in IM can change overnight. One day you can make a thousand dollars and the next day end up with nothing. It can come down to playing with a loaded gun if you don’t take this seriously.
It’s amazing at the numbers of online marketers who are only out to make money as fast as they can. Honestly, sometimes it happens, but just as many times it fails and it’s never sustainable. In the hurry of making a lot of money overnight, they miss the most important element of the Internet marketing game – that is building a sustainable online business that gives you an income on autopilot. A growth oriented vision includes methods such as building an email list and slowly developing until you can outsource and build some more. That might not seem very enjoyable at first but later on you will realize that you’re way ahead of many other Internet marketers. One of the great IM debates concerns whether or not a person should target those niche markets that he feels passionate about. The other side of the coin is the argument that there really is no need to have that passion. One consideration is that you’ll be spending a lot of time reading about something you have no interest in, and that may affect your motivation and desire to work at it. It’s also possible that your feelings for the market could come through in your writing and marketing. It’s not out of the question that you could develop real resentment toward working in it. In time it will become easy to start ignoring it, altogether. So what you’ll do is find an area, or market, that you like at least a little, and then do reseach to make sure you can profitably operate in it. That’s just the common sense approach.
Quite frequently it’s all too easy to forget that we’re dealing with live and real humans. That’s important because basically we’re offering solutions to the problems people have in our market. Focus on having a direct one to one conversion with your customers through your website, emails, etc. Make them feel that you’re real and not just someone hiding behind a computer screen. Be sure to set-up your autoresponder series so it uses their first name in all emails. Always respond to customer service questions and address their problems as quickly as possible. The more you make them feel real, the higher will be the trust factor.
No matter how many mistakes you make, if you just decide you’re going to continue on then they don’t matter in the end. If you prepare and learn, and then keep on learning about IM, that will help tremendously.
